I received a Chinese Headphone; Not JBL 771c Bluetooth Headphone

Not JBL 771c but MS 771c Bluetooth Headphone : Hello everyone, We are searching for good and unique ‘headphones and audio gadgets‘ to use and review here at We Observed. We received 7 till now 5 are in the way and 47 are already in our cart. One out of received 7 is totally different and it really surprised me. After using it for a while and researching online we found that Received JBL 771c wireless headphone is a Chinese headphone. It is not even a clone or duplicate of any headphone It is MS 771c Bluetooth Headphone a normal low cost headphone with a JBL Logo glued on It. so I received a Chinese Headphone and after using it for 3-4 days i like how it sounds. So just making you aware and also sharing my personal experience about this Chinese Headphone.

So you will ask how we did this mistake? So we did it deliberately. It was listed online as JBL 771c wireless headphone with very limited description. But it has more features then others, and In India it is festival session so offered price seems perfect, after a quick research we found that it is not listed on the JBL Bluetooth headphone Portfolio.  So we ordered it deliberately not by mistake, to test its features and what really it offers.

“I don’t have problem what products they are selling, but my point is that some sellers and local shopkeepars also are using a well reputed brand name to sell these products. Later i also found that the same is listed with Product name MS 771c Bluetooth Headphone on two other websites which seems fine, not used brand name not even the logo on the product. Noticeable Fact is that Some of the YouTuber also unboxed and reviewed it on their channel with JBL in their Video title .”

How we know that it is a Chinese Headphone not the original JBL

• First of all it is not in JBL product portfolio.
• Second, it comes in different and very cheap packaging. Branded products comes in perfect packets.
• Third, It sounds good but it has lots of features, which are not available in even in some latest headphones.
• Fourth, the JBL logo just comes off, it was glued on both side with some kind of tape.
• Fifth, It is so cheap. Costs around 9USD.
• Sixth when we opened the ear-cups, we found “蓝牙耳机771c” written in Chinese, Google translator converts it as “Bluetooth Headphone 771c”.

For this article I am considering it as MS 771c Bluetooth Headphone because the same is listed with the same on multiple websites including some Persian language website. Now look at the list of features it offers, some top class headphones lack some of the features from the list so that’s where i first got some doubt.

My experience with MS 771c Bluetooth Headphone

As you can observe that it has a lot of features and after using for a while that all of them are true. So it comes in a fine package but it has JBL logo not JBL by Harman. So you can identify it instantly. Check the images below. The box includes MS-771Wireless Bluetooth Over-ear Headset Headphone with USB Cable and 1 user manual.

Now after opening the package we started our enjoyable work, to test and observe everything.  The complete frame is made of ABS plastic. Ear cups are attached to plastic clips which allow us to adjust the size according to our head they can be slide up and down. Both ear cups can be fold inwards, With just a few adjustment, it fits on ear comfortably. You can use it for 2-3 hrs but after that you will feel pain on the ears due to the band pressure.  The headband and ear cushions are covered by the same material and it is sturdy and soft. The ear cushions not goes around ear it sit on your ears, but the insulation is better than the Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz.

It has ON/OFF, volume down/up, FM/MP3, previous/next track and play/pause buttons and 40mm driver at both sides. Buttons are fine and clicks well but lots of buttons confused me most of the time, and i ended by clicking wrong button. It also has microSD Card slot, all the buttons, microUSB port, 3.5mm jack at Right side.

Now if we talk about connectivity, It features Bluetooth V3.0. It is not latest but provide stable and quick  connectivity. It works fine in a range of 8 meters. After that it is horrible. TF card slot works fine but there is no information about its capacity, I used a 4GB Memory card which works fine. FM Radio features works but it is not great. You have to keep your head up and stable, otherwise you will hear a lots of noise. As per document the headphone has passed CE, RoHS certification.

40mm moving-coil units brings you vivid sound field, sound clarity and sound shock feeling, It is better then my expectation. It can manage heavy Bass boosted songs very well and impressed me. Even with volume level 90% the Sound was clear and so loud. The ear-cups are so bad at isolating outer sounds but fine it was not mentioned anywhere. But still the sound was very loud after 50% volume i was not able to hear any outer noise. I recently got some interest in deeMC music tracks like Aatank, Got top Move, I’m a Nykaa Everyday, and Shru Karein Kya. She is amazing with words and also these tracks have a wide sound stages and heavy bass and variety of instruments and these headphones gave me a good overall listening experience. So it is good and that’s where i considered it better than some of the previous headphones i used.

After tracks i used it for hands free calling, And that’s where it disappointed me so badly. We can’t use it for hands free calling. The receiver not only gets a lots of noise but also they will get Big hall like voice effect. So they can’t hear you.
I like sound but not the position of Buttons and Mic now lets move to the battery life.The headphone have a 200mAh Built in rechargeable battery which get fully charged in 1 hour and 3o minutes and then we can hear music for 4 Hours and 40 minutes. Charging and battery life ratio is fine but the playback time is almost half than other available headphones. It also don’t have fully charged indicator led so we have to connect it to smartphone to get the status.

In September 3rd week we ordered many headphones including this one MS 771c wireless headphone from an online store. It cost me just 8.76USD (INR 620 for one, for bulk order INR 550) and additionally 1.37USD for delivery, so total 10.13USD (718.17 Indian Rupee). It was the cheapest among all audio gadgets we received till now.

If possible keep distance from these type of products there are decent headphones available in the market so just do a quick research before buying. We bought it to test it, impressed by sound but these wireless headphones are not meant for sounds only, Hands free calling, safety, wireless range, battery life also need to be improved. Now Using JBL Logo without any connection is a very bad effort. E-commerce website need to remove the Brand Name from the product listening, I sent a mail to them and they assured me to do the necessary changes.
