Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Review : Just Last week I received an awesomely packed box and when I opened it there is a Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Headphone, It was really great surprise from one of my old friends. Due to bad health, I was postponing the review article on it but thankfully now I am fine and that’s why with some delay I am here with Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Review.
The Company Blaupunkt is a well-recognized brand for its car audio systems and speakers, and in the last few years, it is increasing its portfolio of products. The portfolio Includes speakers to 4K televisions, which is a really wide area. Their Portfolio also includes quality headphones and Blaupunkt BH-01 is one of them. Without any further delay let’s move on Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Review.

Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Design and Specification
The Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz costs around INR 1199.00 with all the discounts and offers on Amazon. As I said earlier I received a well-packed box so I will not highlight the packaging here but still, it is good. Now In the box, I received 1 Headphone, 1 Charging Cable, 1 AUX Cable, and User Manual, and that’s it. We are paying for headphones and that’s what we are getting, so no big complaint, but still I want to highlight that there is no pouch for storing it.
One noticeable thing is that On Amazon there is no “EQz” anywhere, It is just on the box. Unlike Bose QuietComfort 35 II, BH-01 EQz is available in only one color which is of course “Black”. The complete frame is made of ABS plastic with a matte finish, but the matte finish is not looking good whereas the frame feels solid. By the way overall headphones weights just 181g. So it will not feel heavy on your packet and not also on your head.
After the frame let’s move to the ear cups. The ear cups are attached to metal clips which allow us to adjust the size according to our head they can be slid up and down. The ear cups can be folded inwards, but they have very small tilting angles so most of the time it’s hard to find a comfortable fit setup. I also feel a strong clamping force around my ear and it makes things not very comfortable around my ears.
The headband and ear cushions are covered by the same material and it is sturdy and soft. Another noticeable thing is that the ear cushions do not go around the ear they sit on your ears, which leaves some gaps at the lower-front side of both ears. Now I don’t know much about this but still while running or in an airy environment it adds some noise, which can be easily eliminated by just a few adjustments in the designing process.

Nearly all the controls are placed at the right ear cup, The left ear cup has one button the EQz button, and a charging port. On the right side, there are two Volume buttons and a play/ pause/ power button. On the same side, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, LED indicator, and microphone. The EQz gets special treatment because it controls one of the key features of Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz headphones, the button boosts the bass frequency range.
Now finally in this Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Review, I am introducing the heart of this headphone “Speakers” or drivers. So Blaupunkt BH-01 features a 40mm driver in each ear cup, this is the only detail we have known without any tear-down. There is no frequency range, or anything else specified in any document. Other than this BH-01 EQz spot Bluetooth 5.0 and have the ability to pair with two devices at once. It got all the power through a 300mAh battery and it only supports the standard SBC streaming codec. By the way as per reports and document the battery is said to deliver around 15 hours of playtime on one full charge.
Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Sound Quality and Connectivity
So I tested this headphone for a week before publishing this Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Review. I used Nokia 6.1 Plus, OnePlus 7T,iPhone 11, and also iPhone XRas source devices. When used with Bluetooth, the headphone connected very quickly, and there was no sound cracking but it doesn’t have a very high maximum volume level.
With Bluetooth, I had to rise the volume up to about 90 percent or even the full volume most of the time to enjoy my playlist. Without this level of volume be prepared to hear a lot of ambient noise (already mentioned in the design section), The ear-cups failed to isolate the sound, While running or traveling in the vehicle don’t expect clear-pure-quality sound. I also want to mention that the range over the wireless method is good and also there was no connectivity drop issue with BH-01 EQz headphones.
After Bluetooth, we tried the wired connection, which in my personal experience is better than the wireless connection. I got a louder and clear sound at the volume level of 50-60 percent. Of course, still there was noise but at least we can eliminate it with louder sound.

I Played a large number of songs from Gully Boy’s Apna Time Aayega to Zomboy’s Nuclear, including some remixes, some Taylor Swift songs, and some hip hop songs. The Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz sounds good and especially at the price range it is compiling. It delivers Loud Vocal, Clarity in beats, decent Sound staging, and fine bass, with a wired connection everything gets better, especially the bass and volume.
There was no distortion at very high volumes and the bass was tight, quite clear, and punchy. In vocal-led tracks (such as Tracks by Shreya Ghoshal, Taylor Swift, and Adele) the vocals can easily overpower the instrumental and background sounds, which sounds odd sometimes.
The quality of voice calls isn’t top-class over Bluetooth connectivity but again with a wired connection, the overall experience was far better. I also tested with videos too, and the good news is that there are no audio-video sync issues over Bluetooth. As per my experience, this device is passable.
Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Control and Battery life
The Controls are easy to reach and the buttons are quite responsive. The buttons are arranged in a good way that, we don’t have to think more about this. We got Volume + at the top and Volume – at the bottom, and the Play/ Pause/ Power button is sandwiched between both, the Play/ Pause/ Power button is also raised higher than the volume buttons.
All three buttons are multi-functional a long press of the volume up will skip the track and a long press of the volume down button will play the previous song. The BH-01 EQz plays voice prompts for powering on, connecting, or disconnecting to a device but not for EQz, as earlier mentioned.

Now let’s move to the battery life, The Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz gets all its power through a Lithium Polymer battery, and as per Amazon Product listing it has an average battery life of around 10 Hours. But the story not ends here, As per documents the battery is rated for an average of 15 hours.
I don’t know about these two reports but I am experiencing a different story, in my experience(80-90% volume, Bluetooth connectivity) I easily managed to go past both, After a full charge I managed to get 18 hours and 35 minutes of continuous playback, Amazing and really impressive battery life. The interesting thing is that it takes only 3 hours and 10-20 minutes to get fully charged, again impressed.

Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Review : Conclusion
I would like to conclude this Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz Review article with my personal experience with headphones, I recently used Bose QuietComfort 35 II, Motorola Pulse Escape, and JBL E45BT Signature Sound, and I feel that Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz with much lower price can give a good competition to the last two. QuietComfort 35 II is a different beast and its noise cancellation is incomparable so we can’t compare BH-01 with that. But in its own price range, I will still keep it on top. The Battery life and charge time are far better than others and also it delivers a decent sound quality. So if you are searching for a decent headphone which doesn’t feel heavy on your pocket go for it.
trying to connect this via bluetooth to my windows PC. Its not getting connected. How can i resolve this?
