JBL Tune 225 TWS Review : The new wireless avatar of earphones has created a stir in the market and people can’t wait to grab one to complement their style statement. While talking of earphones and earbuds how could one forget the most popular name in the slot – JBL. The brand is the oldest runner in the league and is loved by the crowd worldwide for its classic looks, bass sound and endurance, thus giving a tough competition to other makers in the market.

Now JBL has come up with a “true wireless earphones set” giving its original promised quality and user experience with a touch of up-gradation to suit the modern public needs. The latest launch by JBL is its “Tune 225TWS” available for sale worldwide at attractive rates. The brand has kept it low-key with the earbud’s design but has promised the best connectivity, comfort, sound quality and endurance. Let’s take a look at all in this JBL Tune 225 TWS Review.

Design

Standing out of the queue, JBL Tune 225TWS flaunts an outer ear fit design that is soothing to ears and could be a preferred choice for those who do not like silicon tips. If compared to other brands, JBL earbuds have slightly large dimensions but are impressively light weighted. The design allows passive noise cancellation with a little hint of the surrounding voice (slightly permeable).

Tune 225TWS design

At first glance, the design seems to be a little off the grid but once worn the comfort of the earbuds makes up for all those minor glitches in the design (they are hardly noticeable on user’s ears). JBL Tune 225TWS is available in three very basic yet classy colour variants of all times (black, blue, white and grey) with silver accents on the earbuds (basically the battery indicators).

The case is yet another classy thing to flaunt. They are pocket-sized compact and very light weighted (easy to carry anywhere). There is a USB Type-C charging point at the bottom of the case, a battery indicator under the lid, the magnetic latch and the snug to hold the earbuds. Engraved on the top of the case is the JBL logo.

In-Built Features

Despite a lot of advancements in the wireless audio segment, JBL chose to stick to the traditional design with no in-built mobile app to manage the earbuds and settings. The standard settings are done and customization is not an option with the user.

In-Built Features

One press on the left earbud button switches to the next song track, one press on the right earbud pauses or plays the music and double press on any will enable the voice assistance of the device to which it is linked. Sometimes the functionality of the gadget lags behind and the opposite of the command happens, leaving us clueless of what went wrong with the device.

Sound Quality

JBL is known for its bass sound quality that could change anybody’s mood within seconds. The brand never compromises with its sound quality and the same could be experienced by the users in all JBL brand earphones. Well, the sound quality of the earbuds alone is enough to beat all the minor glitches in its design or functionality. JBL allows passive noise isolation but never fails to deliver what is called the best listening experience.

Connectivity

Connectivity

For the purpose of uninterrupted connectivity Bluetooth 5 is being used here with support for the SBC and AAC codec. The frequency ranges from 20 up to 20,000 Hz. The gadget supports Google Fast Pair for quick pairing with source devices and either of the two earbuds could be used separately (mono more support in both the earbuds). As the earbuds haven’t proved its dust or water-resistant quality, this might be a little disadvantage on users’ end as one has to be careful with its exposure to dust and water.

Battery Backup

Talking of the battery backup, the earbuds give 22mAh battery with five hours uninterrupted usage along with four extra charges from the case. In short, the earbuds could go for 20-21 hours (5 hours per charge from the case) without the Type-C charging point which is ideal for travelling.

Overall the product is totally worth it when compared to the price range it comes in. Hopefully, the brand JBL comes up with an advanced version that will give us control via app feature, an updated design, a more consistent functional buttons and support to advanced Bluetooth codecs. No doubt it is still a tough competitor of other brand earbuds in a similar price range as it has an incredible sound quality, comfort and good battery backup.
