JBL Live 500bt is a wireless over-head headphone that offers users a strike balance of convenience Bluetooth connection and sound performance. So it supports voice assistant of your choice that can be set up using the company ”My Headphone App”.

JBL Live 500bt Design and Specifications
So what is special about this device?
The first noticeable thing about JBL Live500bt design is that it was not created with superiority in design in mind. Hence, the design is fundamental and has some uniqueness put into it. – And it is clearly visible. On the other panels of both earcups is the large logos, and they both serve a purpose; that will be discussed later.
Also, on the right earcup is the power pairing switch that includes the status LED, a button that serves as playback control, and calls management. On the right earcup is also the play/minus button that adjusts the volume. This button also tracks navigation when held. This combination can be hard to master, and it can cause accidental skipping of a track. The multifunction button can also be used to activate the voice assistants’ features. Note that the outer panel button can again do this.
On the left earcup, along the side, is a MicroUSB port for charging. When charging, a small red light near the port stays on. The problem with the button on the earcup is that they are small, and their touch feels similar, which makes it hard to memorize and can cause the pressing of wrong buttons. Another problem is that the earcups are not made with good quality material thus even during our 4-days use the upper rubber material started getting out. Thus maybe in 6-8 months, you have to replace the earcup foams.

Another button on the right earcup is the JBL logo, which is sensitive to touch. Touching and holding it for long would get Siri activated, while the one on the left gets Google assistant, and Alexa started.

JBL Live 500bt Performance and Battery Life
What can JBL Live battery life be compared to? The headphone battery is Lithium-ion polymer that takes an hour and a half for a complete charge. With 3.7v and 700mAh, it can provide a backup of about 25-28 hrs on average with short, at the volume at around 50-60%. This is a good one for whoever listens to music and receives calls casually as it doesn’t need daily charging.
Although the battery life seems lesser compare to other expensive wireless headphones we’ve reviewed; however looking at the price, it performs averagely.
Another thing about JBL Live 500bt performance is the pleasing all-round sound output. You can trust this headphone to give you a satisfactory listening experience that goes well with every music genre.

However, the noise isolation feature is off-track as it can only isolate using the fit around the ear. So if you are the type that commutes busy areas, listen to music on plans and train this is not the right headphone for you. A significant drawback of this headphone is that it gets tight fit, which makes it uncomfortable after using it for a while.
