It is available in two varieties, which is Honor Watch Magic 2s 46mm and 42mm model. 42 mm is good for smartwatch lover with small wrist. We bought the Charcoal black variant and here is our Honor Magic Watch 2 Review.

Design

Magic Watch 2 Smartwatch

The look of Honor Watch Magic 2 looks a lot like that of Huawei Watch GT2, but that is not bad. The design is sleek and looks quite premium. Starting from the materials used, 316L Zeroscape grade stainless was used for the casing, which makes it lightweight and corrosion-resistant.

The base of Honor Magic Watch 2 has a contoured design and despite this, a small hump was integrated housing the heart rate sensor. This does not cause discomfort. On the underside are two points of contact for charging, and the watch can stay close to the charging dock magnetically.

The black variant of Honor Magic Watch 2 features a Fluoroelastomer strap with a rubber-like stretch that comes with it. What makes the black variant kind of unique is that it does not attract dust even when used in a dusty environment.

According to reviews, the leather flax brown variant is not bad either. Also, the watch has a 5ATM water-resistant rating and swimming pool. With a weight of 41g, it is comfortable to wear and not too big. The design of Honor Magic Watch 2 gives it some identity and distinguishes it from other generic smartwatches.

On the right are two buttons positioned at an angle. These buttons give good tactile feedback when pressed. However, they could have been made smaller. With their size and positioning, they could be mistakenly pressed.

Specifications, Features and Performance

HONOR Magic Watch 2

With the stiff competition, Honor Watch Magic 2 is currently facing in India. Its features and specifications are the major factors that determine how long it can survive the market. The Honor Watch Magic 2 runs on Huawei’s in-house Lite OS, which covers the basic but very limited.

On the hardware front, it has a 46mm variant pack that comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a 454 X 454 PIXEL resolution. The display is great, no doubt. There is no need to strain your eyes to see the text on the screen.

In the same way, it features Huawei’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin AI Chip, and packs of 4GB internal storage, but only 2.3GB is available for users. However, the amount of RAM this device has is revealed to no one. In our testing period, the smartwatch felt a bit slow, a bit sluggish.

Nevertheless, the internal storage can be used for music files, and it takes around 30-40 seconds to transfer a low-quality track of 4MB size. Also, only LC-AAC and MP3 are supported.

The Honor Magic Watch 2 comes with a 455mAh battery, that can last for 14 days on a single charge. It comes with 15 different tracking modes ideal for indoor and outdoor activities, such as running, cycling, trekking, sleep tracking, 24/7 heart monitoring, and stress monitoring. Also, it can be used to measure VO2 Max levels. During our testing for this Honor Magic Watch 2 Review, we found that the smartwatch is accurately tracking every single activity. During multiple tests, the results are identical with some minor deflection.

The heart rate and sleep tracking features are enabled by default, but the stress monitoring needs manual activation. The measuring features such as stress monitoring and heart rate sensor, works fine, as compared to the results of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active.

Other features of Honor Watch Magic 2 are that it supports GLONASS for tracking outdoor activities, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-frequency GPS. The tracking through GPS was almost accurate. We covered 2.3km, and the watch shows 2.21km which is acceptable. Furthermore, it is capable of receiving calls, and music can be played through its onboard speaker as well as wireless headsets. Both work fine for us.

OS and App

HONOR Magic Watch 2 app

The Honor Watch 2 runs on Lite OS, Huawei’s smartwatch operating system. It has the basic features, but not so versatile to compete with the likes of Samsung’s Tizen. It does not support third-party apps, that is you cannot download new applications. As we said earlier, it also felt sluggish sometimes, so it is the section where some cons of this smartwatch occurred.

The App is good not the best but just good, all the data get synced automatically and the reports are also understandable. However, it eats battery in the background, so I am a little concerned about it but I also accept that I need a few more days to check the issue. I will update this article with the outcome.

Performance and Battery Life

Magic Watch 2

The battery life of Honor Watch Magic 2 is one of its selling points. The company, through its official websites, claims it can last for up to 14 days on a single charge. However, with its numerous features enabled, the lifespan is expected to drop. Its speaker is good enough, but make sure not to crank it up high enough that your favourite track gets too synthetic.
