Realme Buds Wireless Review : Realme is one of the Chinese companies which is well popular for its smartphones but includes a range of products in its Portfolio from last year. Last year it released Realme Buds which costs around INR499, which have now been followed by the recently launched Realme Buds 2 which costs just INR 599. Just after the Realme Buds 2 company moved to wireless technology and introduced Realme Buds Wireless. So I bought it recently for personal use and after using it for a while I am here with Realme Buds Wireless review.

Realme Buds Wireless Review : best low-cost wireless earphones?

Realme Buds Wireless is a new product that costs only Rs. 1,799 in India. If you check the official website then it claims that sound of Realme Buds Wireless is tuned by DJ Alan Walker, and the wireless buds have a battery life of 12 hours. It will also get tough competition from Xiaomi’s Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones, boAt Rockerz 255, JBL T205BT, OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2, and 1More Stylish Dual Dynamic Driver,. Realme Buds Wireless is offering more than others on paper. So I thought it will be nice if I use and put my views including all pros and cons of this product in the Realme Buds Wireless Review here at We Observed.

Realme Buds Wireless: Design, hardware and features

The Realme Buds Wireless (Model: RMA108) comes in a slim box, In the box we get three pairs of silicone ear tips, Realme Buds Wireless with ear wings pre-attached, a Micro-USB Charging cable, and a few documents. There are three color options Yellow+ Black, Orange, and green, I received one with a yellow-and-black color scheme, Yellow looks awful on the Phone’s back but I quite liked this color scheme on this product. Additionally, It weighs around 30g means it is very light. that’s why it is comfortable to wear even for a long time.

Realme Buds Wireless is a neckband-style earphone which is also the primary reason to make it affordable. Wireless Headphone costs more but maybe Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz is an exception case. The Realme Buds Wireless headset has a flexible neckband with some metal parts at the ends, at both ends cables are connected which leads to the Main speaker module/ earbuds, the cables are just fine in length not very long not very short. The earbuds or speaker housing are made of plastic. The charging port is on the underside of the right module, On the same there are buttons for playback, calls, and volume.

Realme Buds Wireless has magnets in each earbud. Which not only keeps them together while not using but also serves as the power switch. To turn On the headsets you have to separate the buds while attaching them together and switch them off.

Now It is an amazing tech but after using it for 2-3 days I realized that the magnates are not strong enough to keep buds attached/together. So almost two or three-time buds get detached automatically and thus they are turned on, and connected with my phone automatically and all calls are diverted to the buds without us knowing. So it is a problem when you keep it in your bag while riding or something when it is in stable condition like placed on the table then this problem will not bother you much.

After talking about the magnetic switch which is one of its features let’s move to another feature in this Realme Buds Wireless Review. So the wireless buds are powered by the powerful 11.2mm bass boost driver. This driver consists of Multi-layer Composite Diaphragm and Japan Daikoku Voice Coil technology. The combo makes the bass more powerful and dynamic. As per officials, DJ Alan Walker (“faded” 2005) worked closely with teams of acoustic tuning experts to bring you the deepest and most powerful, yet accurate bass response with DBB (Dynamic Bass Boost).

The Realme Buds Wireless features Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and supports the SBC and AAC codecs. The Batteries are a big problem in these type of earphones but Realme Buds Wireless feature 110mAH Lithium Ion battery which as per officials are enough to have a battery life of 12 hours on a single full charge. The earbuds also support fast charging and are able to deliver 100min Music playback on a 10min Charge. The wireless earbuds are IPX4 sweat proof but the charging port has an open face.

Realme Buds Wireless : Performance and Battery Life

It Fits nicely in the ear and gets well support from ear wings. Now when we talk about its performance Realme Buds Wireless sounds amazing. It Sounds more clear and effective with electronic music, maybe inputs from DJ Alan Walker do their job and the sound for the electronic music genre is perfect.

Realme Buds Wireless : Performance and Battery Life

I Used Nokia 6.1 Plus, OnePlus 7T, and iPhone 11, The Pairing or Connection was very quick and stable, with the word “stable” I mean no connection drop. We have seen this quickness with Blaupunkt BH-01 EQz. I used it using both the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. You know my collection of tracks from my last article and I Played the same with some additional tracks ( Thelonious Monk’s “‘Round Midnight”) and also listened to streamed music from YouTube Music, Gaana, and Spotify.

The Sound was clear and detailed, and the soundstage was wide. Especially the instrumental sounds were well defined. I realized that low-end notes not getting much attention and with some Bass boosted tracks we noticed that the bass was not that tight but still enjoyable. We also noticed that sometimes the punchy bass was plain in the heavy synthesized bits of electronic tracks.

By the way, it sounds different than some others but it has, of course, a different taste and I like it. The overall experience was impressive rich, clear, and crisp. A major problem with wireless headphones is that they run short on power when a very heavy bass-boosted song was played at full volume but Realme Buds Wireless managed those tracks very effectively.

Now let’s start with Vocal oriented tracks, So when we played Again our playlist started with Taylor Swift and ended with the melodious voice of Shreya Ghoshal we noticed more positive differences in this genre. Mid and high notes are not very loud and low notes get some aggression. The vocal was crystal clear and the instrumental sound was a little bit modified So the overall experience was unique and actually lovable.

The last two paragraphs was hailing the adjustment but it doesn’t mean that everything is perfect in these earbuds, in tracks where heavy bass and vocal are mixed together the vocals get suppressed. I mean the bass part was loud but the volume of the vocal part get low. So it is not a very big issue but it is easily noticeable.

After listening to almost 50-60 tracks I then tried it as wireless hands-free for voice calls, I must say the mic is able to catch and deliver lots of noise even from a distant object. Receiving voice was OK. The range of Realme Buds Wireless is 10 meters, in this range there is no connectivity drop problem.

Realme Buds Wireless Specs and Price

Realme Buds Wireless features a Lithium Ion battery which in my test delivers a battery life of 9 hours and 30 minutes on a single full charge with a volume of around 60-70%. While charging the LED Indicator never turned to green it was red all the time so it is just a guessing game.

But 9 hours and 30 minutes battery life was a result of 2 hours 40 minutes charging. So the ratio is still better than others. The fast charging thing is also observed, After the battery life test I charged it for 12 minutes and I played around 22 tracks (of ~3.45min-6.02 min. each) before it gets powered off automatically.

So that’s it, It is my Realme Buds Wireless review, and I hope you like it, Cons-Pros and conclusion are engraved below.

Realme Buds Wireless review: Conclusion

Realme Buds Wireless actually surprised me with its build quality and performance on a budget. It is comfortable to wear, Its Sound is Unique, Clear, crispy and it can handle heavy bass too. Additionally, battery life is a bonus. When we compare it with Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones, boAt Rockerz 255, JBL T205BT, OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2 and 1More Stylish Dual Dynamic Driver, there are differences in sound quality but the Realme Buds Wireless holds its position very confidently and all for just Rs. 1,799.

It has just one problem weak magnets, which often led to the earphones automatically powering on without need. That aside, This is a value-for-money product, and it does its job and actually does very well so if you are searching for any wireless earphone, Go for It.
