Skullcandy Indy Evo Review: Skullcandy is a brand known for unique and radical headphones and earphones. And over the years has true to its cause in terms of styles and features. Its products are identifiable very often with bright colors and adventurous design.
And one of such products is the Skullcandy Indy Evo True Wireless Earphones, priced ₹5995 and challenges the competition in the mid-range segment including true wireless earphones price as far as Rs. 10,000.
Actually, the Skullcandy Indy Evo got a cut of Rs 1000 in price and now it is available at ₹5995 compared to the price of ₹6999 in December last year. So if you are looking for a good pair of earbuds, you can choose Skullcandy Indy Evo now.
Being an update of the company’s original earbuds which were released in 2019, Skullcandy Indo Evo is expected to have received some tweaking, from the battery life to the In-built Tile tracking.
So?
In this article, we’d be talking about everything you need to know about Skullcandy Indy Evo True Wireless Earphone Review:
Skullcandy Indy Evo Review
Over the years, the company has put so much effort into getting it right with earphones and it’s obvious with the Indy Evo True Wireless Earphones.
Other than the design receiving some tweaking, it features Bluetooth 5.0, one USB A to USB C charging cable, three sets of ear tips, two pairs of gels, all of which contribute to establishing buds in the outer section of the ears, fast pairing, ease of use, etc.
Another noticeable thing when it comes to Skullcandy Indy Evo Review is the fast charging.

Design and Specification
Unlike Skullcandy Indy True, it provides full media control on each earbud. This makes it possible to do more than just calling, track, and volume control.
The case is nothing different from the Indy fuel, however, appears smaller and more attractive. Around the case are magnetic materials that latch the earpiece in place, hence stay secure and prevent sudden loss.
On both sides of the earbuds are touch controls that control calls, ambient sound mode, activate voice assistant, play, and equalizer preset directly, which makes the app control nearly absolute. Note that the equalizer adjustment comes in three modes – music, movie, and podcast.
Though the app has little or no value, especially for someone who prefers the touch control system. Nevertheless, it’s valuable in tracking each earpiece location. It’s basic but worth it.

It’s worth noting that Skullcandy Indy Evo offers an “Ambient Mode” feature, which makes it possible for you to hear some of the external noise around you. The major drawback of this feature is that there’s no sliding scale to control the level of passiveness.
Furthermore, it comes with an extensive touch control system, in which each of the numerous touch combinations controls major functionalities, but it takes time to master.
Performance and Battery Life
What does using Skullcandy Indy Evo feel like? Indy Evo has a touch of Apple Airpods, but rather than the one-size-fits-all earpieces, it features silicone ear tips. This ensures the earbuds stay fit and never fall, even during exercise.
For its sound system, nothing stands out or makes this true wireless earphone unique – It has no ANC system, but the snugness rendered by the earphones provides some level of noise-canceling that can block out a reasonable amount of noise.
The passive noise cancellation is decent enough, but it’s not reliable in an environment with noises here and there.
Furthermore, with a total battery life of up to 30 hours, it’s safe to say that the Skullcandy Indy Evo battery life is above average. Though the performance depends on the listening volume, you still won’t fall on the bad side.

The microphone is decent enough considering how tough it is to cram a decent microphone into true wireless earphones.
Overall for its decent battery life, in-built Tile tracking, touch control, and clean aesthetic, it’s a good choice for sport freaks, gamers who love listening to music when going about their day-to-day activities. However, looking at the audio quality and need for a real ANC system, Creative outlier Air is a better option. Sony WF-1000XM3 is a better option for its sound output, decent battery life, active noise cancellation, etc.
Skullcandy Indy Evo Review Conclusion
Like the majority of truly wireless earphones, nothing is amazing about the Skullcandy Indy Evo, except the tight bass, excellent fit, and control, which are not enough reasons to choose these earphones over others.
Few of those things that count when it comes to choosing earphone over the other is the sound quality and features – which Skullcandy Indy Evo manages to be at average and no further.
In summary, you won’t be disappointed with the battery life, touch control, but you won’t get anything different.
