Sony SRS-XB13 comes more expensive than its predecessor but with a better sound dispersion. The speaker was designed to allow the dispersion of sound in 360 degrees, making the sound go around a room better. It was also said to be dust-resistant and water-resistant.
Even though Sony claims that it has improved the wireless speaker to receive calls, it might not be advisable to do so.If you are on a budget and thinking of getting an average wireless speaker, the Sony SRS-XB13 wireless speaker is a great option. There are some downsides to it.

Sony SRS-XB13 Design and Specifications
The Sony SRS-XB13 wireless speaker is one of the small size speakers with such a lightweight, which makes it portable and easy to carry around. Its shape is like a soda can. It is a little wide, round, and short. Its small size, with a diameter of 46mm should fit into a car cup holder. The wireless speaker comes with a strap that makes it easy to hold or hang wherever you want to hang it.
A grille at the top of the wireless speakers acts as a guard for a 1.5-inch driver. On the rear side of the speaker, there is a passive radiator that gives a better bass response. The speaker has a USB-C port for charging. Around the side where this port is located, you can find controls for the speaker.

A rubber with gaps can be found at the bottom of this wireless speaker for easy passage of sound. When it comes to design, Sony SRS-XB13 looks like UE Wonderboom and UE Wonderboom 2. There are just a few differences, like the position of controls.
Sony SRS-XB13 has a sound diffusion processor that helps the speaker diffuse its sound in a room in a 360-degree manner. Two cool features that come with this speaker: the ability to pair two Sony SRS XB13 wireless speakers by pressing and holding the BT pairing button; and the ability to quickly pair with an Android device.

Sony SRS-XB13 Performance and Battery Life
The SRS-XB13 is better than its predecessors when it comes to sound quality. It seems Sony has focused more on getting better sound quality, especially on the mid-range, allowing vocals to be more audible. Even though the speaker is small, it still has quite a good sound quality output, resulting from the passive radiator responsible for better bass response.
This is what makes the speaker better than other budget wireless speakers. It is rich with bass and balanced audio output. The design also aids the easy diffusion of sound around the room it’s being used. You can use it for any genre of music. The only downside in this area is the loudness of the speaker, especially when it is used outdoor. There is a way around that. – You need the speaker to be louder for a small party you are having outdoor, you can connect your SRS-XB13 speaker with another SRS-XB13 speaker. Voila, this settles the case, and the party starts.

Sony claims that the speaker is now better for calls, but wouldn’t recommend that. It is around average when it comes to calling. The in-built microphone only senses voice from close range. Your guess is as good as mine. It is not a far-field microphone, so it might not work when you are trying to pick a call and you are far away.
Another great quality the Sony SRS-XB13 wireless speaker has is resistance to water and dust, as I stated earlier.
One thing you should be ready for is being patient when charging Sony SRS-XB13 wireless speakers. It takes about four hours to get the speaker to a full charge, on average. I know it’s such a long time, but there is a bright side to it.
The speaker can last for 16 good hours after a full charge. 16 hours! The 16 hours only get to not be up to that if you’re playing at the loudest. Nevertheless, it should still run for a day. This is cool for its price and a positive side to its long charge.
